  • Job Description


    The Distribution & Channel Management team is responsible for launching a broader distribution network to assist Tangerine in its goal of becoming the #1 Direct Bank for Canadians everyday banking needs. Establishing a greater presence through various distribution options will support the banks’ strategic objectives – Grow our customer base; Deepen relationships with our Clients; Strengthen brand awareness; and Showcase Tangerine’s leadership in technology and unique culture.


    The District Manager reports directly to the Director, Retail Banking. The District Manager is responsible for generating interactions that share the values of our brand through educating, coaching and inspiring Canadians to be forward thinking when it comes to their money. As the District, you are the local voice in order to drive the business forward in raising awareness for Tangerine, while enhancing the overall Client retail experience and building profitable relationships in the community to help increase brand consideration and usage for Tangerine.



    • Accountability and responsibility for targeted sales results.
    • Lead, coach and develop teams (Cafés, Pop-up and Kiosks), bringing energy and passion for the business.
    • Ongoing improvement of the client retail experience for customers and prospects.
    • Responsible for managing site launches and re-location projects.
    • Accountable for the management of client information, including legal documentation, compliance requirements and deposits.
    • 24/7 responsibility for security of the premises and the facility in general, including legal contracts and vendors, etc.
    • Drive and increase awareness of physical presence by aligning with national marketing strategy and support local events in order to strengthen brand awareness and consideration of Tangerine products.
    • Embraces and ensures execution of Tangerine’s promises and competencies.
    • Lead, coach and develop teams, bringing energy and passion for the business.
    • Conduct performance assessments with reports at least semi-annually.
    • Responsible for understanding and complying with the Regulatory Compliance Framework including the Anti-Money Laundering/Anti-Terrorist Financing and Sanctions Policy and all AML related policies, procedures and controls within the department.
    • Other duties as assigned. 

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:                                                                                                                                                  

    • Education/Experience
      • University or College Degree
      • Retail Management experience required
      • Sponsorship, Promotions and Community planning experience is an asset
    • Technical Skills
      • Fluently bilingual, written and spoken (French/English) is an asset
      • Strategic and tactical thinker and planner
      • Excellent analytical, organization and problems solving skills
      • Strategic and vision oriented thinker and planner
    • Abilities
      • Ability to demonstrate leadership skills

    WORKING CONDITIONS:                                  

    The District Manager will be working in a traditional office environment and may be subject to special working conditions as needed by the business. Special working conditions may cover a range of circumstances from regular evening and weekend work, overtime, shift work, working outdoors and/or working with challenging clients.


    Requirements of the role include:

    • Availability to work retail hours on both weekdays and weekends as needed
    • Flexibility to travel to different locations (Café, Pop Ups and Kiosks) throughout assigned District area or region.
