    Client Business Support (CBS) is a client focused processing department that enables the bank to demonstrate that a virtual bank can offer superior client experience by efficiently and effectively delivering on the promises made to our clients. The CBS department is made up of several teams; each team plays a unique role in providing support for both Deposit/Chequing and Lending products. The following teams along with their specialized focus is what makes Client Business Support an integral piece of our organization:

    • Account Opening
    • Registered Products, Statements and Year- End
    • Mutual Funds and Cannex
    • Payments
    • Estates
    • Lending
    • Quality Assurance

    The Associate, Discharge’s main responsibility is to remove the mortgage registered interest of Tangerine by preparing mortgage discharge documentation for all Provinces across Canada. The role also includes preparation of Mortgage Discharge Statements and the payout of the Mortgage. The associate is required to have a thorough understanding of the various registered mortgage charges throughout Canada and will be responsible to validate for accuracy of the discharge document/statements.

    The successful candidate must have the ability to pay attention to detail and meet predetermined productivity and Quality Assurance Standards. The candidate must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in order to establish a solid working relationship with both internal and external clients. This position offers the successful candidate an opportunity to gain experience in Client Business Support along with developing a large understanding of various aspects of the Mortgage Product. The Associate, Discharge will report directly to the Manager of Discharge and Servicing.


    • Prepare mortgage discharge documents/statements for all Provinces (Port, Bridge, Discharge and Transfers).
    • Ensure Mortgage payouts are performed within the agreed service level agreement
    • Validate mortgage details to ensure accuracy of document.
    • Verification of data on the system is in accordance to registered charge.
    • Adhere to specified timeframes of completing documentation as outlined in the Servicing Manual and in accordance to Provincial regulation.
    • Liaison with Solicitors other Financial Institutions, third party services.
    • Meet and exceed individual predetermined productivity and Quality Assurance Targets
    • Ensure adherence to policy and procedure and develop innovative process changes to enhance the productivity of the business unit
    • Understanding of Regional documentation requirement for across Canada, inclusive of Quebec

    • Comply with the Tangerine Code of Conduct
    • Other duties as assigned.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:                                                                                                                                                  

    • Education/Experience
      • University or College Degree
      • Minimum 1-2 years of retail lending experience
    • Specialized Knowledge
      • Solid understanding of the life cycle of residential mortgages
      • Knowledge of current mortgage products from an administrative perspective is essential
    • Technical Skills
      • Bilingual in English/French is and asset
      • Demonstrated ability to use MS Office (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
      • Strong analytical skills in identifying problems with ability to make recommendations
    • Abilities
      • Motivated and ability to display initiative by identifying opportunities for continuous improvement of policies and procedures

    WORKING CONDITIONS:                                  

    The Associate, Discharge will be working in a traditional office environment and may be subject to special working conditions as needed by the business. Special working conditions may cover a range of circumstances from regular evening and weekend work, overtime, shift work, working outdoors and/or working with challenging clients.
