    DEPARTMENT SUMMARY:

    The Product department develops exceptional products that are consistent with the Bank’s mission and strategy, and delivers great experiences for our clients. Specifically, the department builds value propositions to deliver against a competitive product roadmap, manages the profitability and usability of our existing suite of offerings, and partners with key departments to ensure an exceptional client experience. Payments & Lending covers four product groups; Chequing/Debit, Unsecured Lending, Credit Cards, and Secured Lending.

    ROLE PURPOSE:

    The Senior Product Manager of Credit Card Products ensures that Tangerine’s credit card products support the strategic direction of our brand, delivers on initiatives to meet our volume and profitability goals and deliver a wow experience in addressing the needs of Canadians. The successful incumbent will lead a team in collaboration with marketing and other partners across the organization in the development and implementation of new credit card products and a roadmap for potential product changes and launches. The Senior Product Manager will report directly to the Director of Credit Cards.

     

    ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:

    • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of client needs, attitudes and behaviours by thoroughly understanding the results of our initiatives, and regularly listening to clients to develop a deep understanding of their buying process
    • Identify and build the case for the critical product success factors that will make our credit card valuable to clients and profitable for the Bank
    • Lead the development and monitor the implementation of credit card initiatives that supports our brand
    • Understand, build strategies and lead key actions to improve the acquisition, conversion and client satisfaction numbers for credit card products
    • Lead initiatives within the credit card product team to drive out incremental, evolutionary and disruptive innovations within the card business with focus on products and client facing processes across web, phone, café and paper channels. Lead the development of project requirements and business cases to apply client and staff insights to disrupt the market and outsmart the competition
    • Complete business casing and build relationships in support of gaining support and the necessary resources to execute savings product launches and improvements
    • Lead deliveries in collaboration with various other teams (i.e. IT, Marketing, Sales, etc.) throughout the organization to implement recommendations that strengthen credit card product features, positioning or processes
    • Present reports to the Executive on credit card product results, plans and strategy
    • Responsible for understanding and complying with the Regulatory Compliance Framework including the Anti-Money Laundering/Anti-Terrorist Financing and Sanctions Policy and all AML related policies, procedures and controls within the department
    • Other duties as assigned.

     

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

    • Education/Experience
      • Graduate Degree in Business
      • 5-7 years of product development experience
      • Experience winning business case approval and following through to successful implementation
    • Specialized Knowledge
      • Thorough understanding of credit card products, key success factors and the regulatory environment surrounding them
    • Technical Skills
      • Strong analytical and interpersonal skills

     

    WORKING CONDITIONS: 

    The Senior Product Manager, Credit Card Products will be working in a traditional office environment and may be subject to special working conditions as needed by the business. Special working conditions may cover a range of circumstances from regular evening and weekend work, overtime, shift work, working outdoors and/or working with challenging clients.
