Job Description


Our Mutual Funds Department is comprised of multiple teams, including Sales and Operations. Mutual Funds Sales is not only responsible for facilitating the sale of mutual funds to our Clients, but is also charged with educating the customer on their various mutual fund options. Whether you're looking to invest in the Tangerine Investment Fund, set-up an ASP on your mutual fund account or update your investor profile, our friendly and knowledgeable Mutual Funds Associates will be happy to assist you. Mutual Funds Operations is responsible for all of the processing as well as the reconciliation of Mutual Fund trades. Whether funds need to be transferred from other financial institutions or trades need to be settled, our dedicated Operations Associates are hard at work to process all the mutual fund-related transactions.



The Director of Tangerine Investments reports directly to the Vice President of Deposits and Investments. The Director of Tangerine Investments is accountable for Service and Sales execution, product management for Tangerine Investments, outsourcing relationships for the Investments business and supporting the Vice President with the general management of the investments business including strategy, mid-term business plans and tactical execution of key initiatives to achieve desired business results. The Director Tangerine Investments will lead the Tangerine investments senior leadership team.



  • Drive the Investments product strategy and align value proposition with the Bank’s overall brand.
  • Develop and optimize the sales and customer service model and strategy across all channels.
  • Align outsourcing relationships with the Investments business and Bank’s long term objectives.
  • Engage in public relations as an ambassador for the Investments business.
  • Functional Management of the Investments business.
  • Provide leadership to execute Investments tactical plans through key stakeholder functions including Marketing, Service and Sales and Operations.
  • Thoroughly understand the market and competitive environment to understand insights and foresights, making adjustments to strategy and tactical plans as necessary.
  • Member of the Investments subsidiaries Management Committees as the Director responsible for Investments Business Operations.
  • Represent the Investments business as a member to the Bank’s Risk Operational Working Group Committee.
  • Lead, coach and develop teams, bringing energy and passion for the business.
  • Conduct performance assessments with reports at least semi-annually.
  • Responsible for understanding and complying with the Regulatory Compliance Framework including the Anti-Money Laundering/Anti-Terrorist Financing and Sanctions Policy and all AML related policies, procedures and controls within the department.
  • If individual is on the Executive Team (ET), the following accountability also applies: Delegated by the President and CEO the responsibility for overseeing the execution of the Regulatory Compliance Framework including the Anti-Money Laundering/Anti-Terrorist Financing and Sanctions Program at Tangerine as outlined in the Scotiabank Enterprise-wide Anti-Money Laundering/Anti-Terrorist Financing and Sanctions Policy.

Minimum Qualifications:                                                                                                                                                  

  • Education/Experience
    • University Degree or equivalent experience
    • 5+ years of leadership experience
    • 7+ years of leadership and management experience
    • Completion of Branch Managers Course (BMC)
    • Completion of Investment Funds in Canada course (IFC) 

WORKING CONDITIONS:                                  

The Director, Tangerine Investments will be working in a traditional office environment and may be subject to special working conditions as needed by the business. Special working conditions may cover a range of circumstances from regular evening and weekend work, overtime, shift work, working outdoors and/or working with challenging clients.
