Job Description

DEPARTMENT SUMMARY:

The Product department develops exceptional products that are consistent with the Bank’s mission and strategy, and delivers great experiences for our clients. Specifically, the department builds value propositions to deliver against a competitive product roadmap, manages the profitability and usability of our existing suite of offerings, and partners with key departments to ensure an exceptional client experience. Payments & Lending covers four product groups; Chequing/Debit, Unsecured Lending, Credit Cards, and Secured Lending.

ROLE Purpose:

Working closely with Product Management, Loss Prevention and Finance, the Senior Manager of Product Performance Management Credit Cards will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of financial analytics, forecasting and pricing strategy for the Tangerine Credit Card. The incumbent will be the direct conduit to Finance and manage all annual product related financial planning activities. The Senior Manager will report directly to the Vice President of Credit Cards.

In addition, this position will be responsible for developing and overseeing recommendations and insights on volume, pricing, modeling and related activities impacting the Credit Card P&L.

ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Responsible for developing and implementing P&L analysis and forecasting methodologies to ensure that the business is meeting financial and portfolio KPIs.
  • Develop and oversee weekly, monthly and annual volume forecasting and pricing assessments.
  • Develop and oversee product-related business and financial planning, including analysis and insights on product performance.
  • In conjunction with Marketing and Loss Prevention, develop a deep understanding of Tangerine’s customer base and trends (transactional, demographics etc.) and propose business strategies that drive earnings growth through portfolio management and improvements in loan losses.
  • The incumbent will work cross-functionally and be responsible for the oversight and management of day-to-day risk and finance activities related to the product, including operating expense management and budgeting.
  • Responsible for understanding and complying with the Regulatory Compliance Framework including the Anti-Money Laundering/Anti-Terrorist Financing and Sanctions Policy and all AML related policies, procedures and controls within the department.

Minimum Qualifications:                                                                                                                                                  

  • Education/Experience
    • University or College Degree – MBA preferred
    • Minimum 5-8 years of experience in the field
    • Experience in managing direct reports
    • Minimum 5-8 years of strong financial or capital background
    • Specific product experience considered an asset
  • Professional Certification
    • CFA preferred
  • Specialized Knowledge
    • Robust understanding of credit card P&L management
    • Strong financial and business acumen
  • Technical Skills
    • Strong analytical and data skills
    • Strong Excel skills

WORKING CONDITIONS:                                  

The Senior Manager, Product Performance Management, Credit Cards will be working in a traditional office environment and may be subject to special working conditions as needed by the business. Special working conditions may cover a range of circumstances from regular evening and weekend work, overtime, shift work, working outdoors and/or working with challenging clients.
